2025 WildWalls Murals are Being Installed

JACKSON, WYOMING, June 9, 2025 / Jackson’s downtown streets are welcoming eight temporary murals, three new murals at river kiosks, and two permanent murals as part of JH Public Art’s annual WildWalls event. Local artists were selected for this year’s WildWalls, during which the art and science communities join forces to raise awareness on our region’s pressing ecological stories. Blank alley walls are transformed into an open-air gallery from May through September, in a highly visual, interactive, and educational event without the confines of a traditional venue, making it accessible to thousands of people daily.

Maps of mural locations will be available at jhpublicart.org and around town throughout the summer. Mark your calendars for a WildWalls kick-off celebration on Wednesday, June 18th, at the Center for the Arts from 4-6pm.

At three Snake River access points, Astoria, South Park, and Wilson, keep an eye out for engaging artwork by Susan Grinels. These educational river kiosks highlight the importance of river safety, Wild and Scenic rivers, and riparian public lands, highlighting the efforts of the Snake River Fund to educate river users.

The temporary, wheatpaste mural artists are: Olivia Ewing, Gabriel Lopez, Melissa Malm, James Overstreet, Miranda Raposa, Jocelyn Slack, and Kay Stratman and their artwork calls attention to the work of The Nature Conservancy, Trout Unlimited, Wyoming Outdoor Council, The Raptor Center, Protect Our Water JH, and Teton County Weed & Pest.

As part of this year's featured murals, we are excited to include Wild Journeys, a two wall permanent mural by Helen Seay, sponsored by Wyoming Untrapped and produced in collaboration with Yellowstonian.org. The mural is located at 120 W. Broadway.

Artist Matt Sunderman of Boise, Idaho was selected for this year’s large-scale, permanent mural in Gaslight Alley, which is sponsored by the Gaslight Business Owners and will be painted this summer. Sunderman is an interdisciplinary visual artist and the owner of Liquid Sol in Boise, Idaho. Liquid Sol specializes in site specific, large-scale paintings, sculptures and installations. Sunderman commented, “I enjoy opportunities to develop and conceptualize projects with clients to help them realize their vision for a particular space. I like to mix it up! I’m adroit at working in different genres and exploring a variety of subject matter.”

WildWalls 2025 is sponsored by: Gaslight Alley Business Owners, Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board, Wyoming Untrapped, The Nature Conservancy, Snake River Fund, Teton Raptor Center, Wyoming Outdoor Council, Teton County Weed and Pest, Trout Unlimited, Protect Our Water JH, Jackson Hole Book Trader, First Interstate Bank, Wyoming Arts Council, Snake River Brewing, Stinky Prints.
